Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! Wow, it's already 2010! Can you believe it's a new decade? My whole family stayed up to midnight to ring in the new year, and at midnight, my dad yelled "Happy New Year" out the front door. I never really make resolutions, because if I did, I would probably break them. It's been a while since I blogged last, so here's a recap of what happened since Christmas. I wasn't expecting anything for Christmas, but I did get a homemade quilt from my Grandparents, which is really warm and already on my bed. It was kind of bad weather outside, so we stayed home the whole day. On the 26th, we went to my dad's family party. For most of my dad's family, this is the only day we get to see them in the year, so it was a nice visit. My dad's 3 sisters and there husbands, my Grandpa Fran and Lauretta, my great-grandma, and most of my cousins and their kids were there. We got there at 4:30, and ate dinner, hung out, and opened gifts. From my aunts, I got a pair of pj's (which I've already worn), 20$, a homemade bookmark, and a cosmetic bag with several lotions and other beauty products, and from my Grandpa Fran, money as well. On our way back to my aunt's house, we had to pick up some meds for my grandma, so we didn't get back until late at night. Well, on the 27th, we didn't really do anything exciting but, on the 28th (while still in Missouri), my mom, siblings, uncle, and I went to the City Museum in St. Louis. The City Museum is this old building that someone took a bunch of junk, and made slides, mosaics, and tons of crawl spaces. When we first got there, we had lunch, which consisted of St. Louis style pizza and warm chocolate chip cookies, both which were soooo good. I then went around with my sister taking pictures, until we got to The Caves. The Caves is this part of the museum that all the walls are covered with some kind of material that looks like stone, so it's like you're in a cave. Just recently, the museum was renovated, so that now in the caves, there is this slide you can go on (that wasn't finished the last time I came here) that is up ten stories, and goes down around 4 or so. You have to climb up a ton of spiral stairs to get to the top, then wait a few minutes, but it was worth it. I was dizzy when I got out at the bottom (the slide is also spiral). I also went outside and climbed around the various passageways there. It was very fun. For dinner, we met up with my other aunt's family and my dad (who was with his dad the whole day) at Red Robins, which was good. The 29th was the day we drove home. I convinced my parents to take a detour to Ted Drewes on the way home, which is this really good frozen custard store in St. Louis; I got a brownie concrete (which is like a blizzard). We got home at 10:30 PM and unpacked. The only exciting thing about the next few days is that my family went to see Sherlock Holmes at the local theater. It was very exciting and interesting to watch. I would recommend it to anyone. Now you're all caught up.
